28 September 2026
One day. Every continent. A single message: trusted journalism matters.
Campaign week runs 25 September to 2 October.
The Message for 2026
In 2024, 800 publishers stood together for World News Day. In 2025, that number grew to more than 1,000, across 108 countries and 17 languages.
That growth isn’t a vanity metric. It’s the point. The pressures on journalism are intensifying, but so is the audience’s need for reporting they can trust, and so is our willingness to say so together, out loud, on the same day.
World News Day 2026 is your newsroom’s moment to show readers what goes into your work, and why it’s worth understanding and defending.

How to Sign Up
1. Sign up
Registration takes two minutes and puts you on the list for everything that follows.
2. Get the campaign materials
From the start of September we’ll send you download links to customisable advertising materials in multiple formats and languages, built to drop straight into your existing workflows. Adapt them to your brand, your language and your audience. You’ll also get editorial materials: op-eds, cartoons, video and social images.
3. Do more, if you can
Commission your own articles. Film your journalists talking about their work. Dedicate a podcast, a newsletter or an event to the day. The strongest World News Day moments are the ones a newsroom makes its own.
4. Run the campaign, 25 September to 2 October
Use World News Day to rally support. Ask your community to stand with journalism — when facts truly matter.
Together, we reach further.
One day of shared voice does more than a hundred separate ones.
Add your masthead to the 2026 campaign.
